Legendary soprano Dawn Upshaw has achieved worldwide celebrity for her fierce commitment and transformative performances of works ranging from baroque cantatas to contemporary premieres, appearing nearly 300 times at the Metropolitan Opera and winning a MacArthur genius grant. The artistic director of the Graduate Vocal Arts Program at Bard College Conservatory, in this concert she joins forces with the singers of the program and its associate director, Kayo Iwama, in two programs of new and recently composed works for voice and instruments, all New York City premieres.
